Our New Outdoor Living Space

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

OUR DREAM PATIO.

BACKSTORY. Our house is 10 years old, almost 11 and just few years ago we had to tear down our deck due to a siding issue. We had to reside our entire house which was a huge mess. Think class-action lawsuit. So instead of building our deck back we only replaced it with a temporary walkout - just enough so the kids couldn't fall out the back door...We lived with it like that for almost three years until we could build our dream screened patio! For three years, I searched Pinterest, poured over magazines and talked with our architect, Kristin David of KD Designs in Benton, KY. We started in January and finished in April! We can finally say it is finished and complete!

These past few months we have so enjoyed our new outdoor living space! As I said before I searched and searched for inspiration online but I just didn't find as much as I'd expected. So I thought I'd pop on here and show you guys some final photos as well as share where we purchased most everything...and because of Covid 19, it took months for everything to finally arrive!

We absolutely LOVE this 4-Piece Seating Set from Sam's Club! I find my youngest kiddo here most mornings and evenings sunggled up watching TV. NOTE: this photo was taken before our ceiling fans arrived!

Outdoor Tasseled Throw Pillow Black/White (this pillow isn't pictured but it is one of my favs!)

This space is large, so I knew I wanted oversized furniture and I searched and searched online. It's just so hard picking our furniture when you can't see it and sit on it. I just happened to be in Sam's and saw this and fell in love! The colors were perfect, the size was perfect and it was comfy too! It is heavy and sturdy and has held up great so far! NOTE: Notice our fireplace logs weren't installed yet, those too were backordered quite awhile! NOTE: My lanterns are a ramdom TJ Maxx purchase but I will link others that I love below.

I'm always all in for baskets and blankets! I fell in love with these round woven baskets from Target!

The accent table came from Target as well as the artificial Banana tree!

Panoramic view of the porch.

We purchased the 6 person black table pictured below from Lowes and the chairs from Target. I'm a mix and match gal!

I'm a huge fan of Rae Dunn pieces...but only certain ones...like these melamine outdoor dining plates! I so wish I could link them for you but they are a TJ Maxx find!

NOTE: I do want to say we have had this outdoor table and chairs for roughly three years now. We previously used this set at our permanent campsite so it is a little more "used" than I would like. Both the table and chairs have held up great and are quite sturdy but there are surface scratches from it being moved around a bit.

I love adding color with ferns! Typically my favorite plant because they are the only ones I can't kill! LOL!

For months I searched high and low for the perfect outdoor ceiling fans and outdoor lights that wouldn't break the bank - I needed nine ceiling fans and eight outdoor lights. I know...you're thinking why nine ceiling fans...three fans for the front porch, three for the back porch and three for the pool patio (more to come on that later!)

I mean, they couldnt have turned out more perfect! They are quiet, sturdy, compact and move lots of air!
